Little Kids Camp
State of Play Summer Camp for 3 - 7 year olds! 4 days a week (Monday through Thursday) from 9am-3pm.
Each week your child will explore a different art material and learn about new artists and concepts within the medium. Your child will work on collaborative art pieces, as well as create their own individual works, a self portrait and a functional piece of art to take home. Each camp ends with an art show for grownups and siblings where the children will have the opportunity to show their work to loved ones. Daily outdoor lunch and art making (weather permitting) will be held in State of Play's green space in the Cannery.
June 15 - 18 : Paint Camp
This vibrant camp invites children to explore the magic of paint in all its forms: thick, thin, spattery, drippy and everything in between. Campers will experiment with giant collaborative murals, textured paint tools, bubble painting, and printing with unexpected objects. With color mixing, sensory-rich play and joyful mess-making at the center, kids will leave with bright masterpieces and an even brighter love for painting.
June 22 - 25: Forest & Friends Art Camp
This nature inspired camp invites children into a playful world of forest creatures, tiny woodland folk, and imagninative outdoor adventures. Campers who love exploring, building and creating outside will feel right at home. Throughout the week, they will design their own mini cardboard campsites, craft "flower power" campes and crowns, and build playful gnome homes. It is a joyful mix of hands-on artmaking, outdoor play and whimisical make-believe.
June 29 - July 2 : Collage Camp
A deep dive into collage, assemblage and material layering. Kids will experiment with get plates, image transfers, fabric scraps, painted papers, cardboard sculpture and found object assemblage to create contemporary masterpieces.
July 6 - 9 : Magical World Camp
This magical camp invites children to step into a world of enchantment and creativity. They will build fairy houses and gardens, craft a mermaid lair, mix magical potions, and even create their own fairy wand. Along the way, children will explore sculpting, hands-on construction, a bit of slime science, and engaging sensory play, all while bringing their imaginative ideas to life.
July 13 - 16 : Sculpture Camp
A hands-on week devoted to building, stacking, attaching, and inventing in 3-D. Children will explore clay, cardboard construction, wire, wood pieces, paper mâché, and found objects to create sculptures big and small. From tiny creatures to towering structures, campers will practice problem-solving, experiment boldly, and learn how everyday materials can transform into imaginative forms.
July 20 - 23: Sweet Treats Camp
This sweet-themed camp invites children to dive into a world of whimsical, pretend treats. Throughout the week, campers will dream up their own “baked goods” using a mix of materials. They’ll have the chance to build a make-believe bakery, experiment with fluffy faux “frosting,” and transform everyday recyclables into a buffet of creative masterpieces. It’s a joyful blend of sensory exploration, storytelling, and hands-on artmaking.
July 27 - 30 : Watercolor Camp
A dreamy week celebrating all things watercolor. Children will experiment with wet-on-wet painting, salt textures, resist techniques, splatter experiments, and color migration magic. They’ll paint large-scale collaborative pieces as well as small, delicate works, exploring how this soft, fluid medium can create both bold and gentle effects. It’s a peaceful, wonder-filled week of color exploration.
August 8 - 6 : Animal Adventures Art Camp
In this camp, children will bring a variety of animals to life, from lions and turtles to stuffed foxes and playful puppets. They will explore printmaking, mask making, 3-D construction, and a range of other creative techniques, all while discovering new ways to express their ideas through art.
August 10 - 13 : Clay Camp
A squishy, sensory, totally captivating week devoted to all things clay. Campers will explore hand-building techniques such as pinching, coiling, pressing, and texturing while using a mix of air-dry clay, model magic, and natural materials. They’ll create mini vessels, animal figures, beads, tiles, and collaborative sculptures, all while discovering how clay can stretch, squish, stack, and transform. This camp celebrates experimentation, tactile learning, and the pure delight of making with your hands.
August 17 - 20 : Playful Pets Art Camp
This animal-loving camp invites children to create their very own playful pets—real or imagined! Throughout the week, campers will make pet puppets, sculpt tiny animals, build cardboard pet homes, and craft accessories like collars, beds, and cozy habitats. They’ll explore painting, printmaking, 3-D construction, and sensory materials as they care for and play with the creatures they create. It’s a sweet mix of imaginative storytelling, hands-on making, and joyful pretend play.
August 24 - 27 : Printmaking
This playful camp introduces children to the magical world of printmaking; where one mark can make many images! Campers will experiment with a wide range of techniques, including rolling ink, stamping with found objects, creating nature prints, designing simple block prints, and pulling colorful monoprints. They’ll explore pattern, repetition, and texture as they create posters, patterned papers, fabric prints, and collaborative murals. It’s a joyful, hands-on week filled with surprises, experimentation, and the delight of seeing artwork multiply before their eyes.

June 15 - 18 : Fashion Design Camp
In this camp, children will become young fashion designers, creating their own clothing and accessories from start to finish. They will sketch designs, experiment with fabrics, paints, and collage, and learn simple construction techniques to bring their ideas to life. Campers will also craft wearable accessories like hats, belts, or jewelry, and the week will end with a runway showcase where they can model and share their original creations.!
June 22 - 25 : Weaving Camp
In this tactile, colorful camp, children will explore the timeless art of weaving through both traditional and inventive techniques. They’ll experiment with cardboard looms, circle weavings, off-loom weaving, and playful pattern-making while learning about texture, rhythm, and design. This camp celebrates patience, creativity, and the unexpected beauty that emerges when many small pieces come together to make something new.
June 29 - July 2 : Playwriting Camp
This camp combines art and storytelling as children bring their favorite tales- or their own stories- to life. Campers will create illustrated scripts, costumes, and 3-D scenes using painting, collage, sculpture, and printmaking. The week concludes with a production of their play for kids to share with friends and family.
July 7 - 9 : Makers Market Camp
In this camp, children will become young entrepreneurs, learning how to market their creations and set prices for their work. They will make jewelry, sensory jars, paintings, and other original art, and even design their own business cards. The week will culminate in a real art market where campers can showcase and sell the pieces they created.
July 13 - 16 : Dream House Camp
In this camp, children will design and decorate their very own dream house. They will paint, print, collage, and construct to bring every room to life. Campers will create furniture, wallpaper, and even pets to fill their imaginative spaces, exploring a variety of creative techniques along the way.
July 27 - 30 : I Love Myself Camp
This confidence-building camp invites children to celebrate everything that makes them wonderfully themselves. Throughout the week, campers will create joyful self-portraits, design “power posters,” craft affirmation mirrors, and build small sculptures that highlight their strengths, interests, and identities. Through artmaking, movement, storytelling, and gentle discussions, children will explore themes of belonging, kindness, bravery, and what it feels like to show up as their full selves. It’s a heart-filling week designed to nurture self-love, resilience, and inner sparkle.
July 20 - 23 : Collage Camp
Children will learn about the seven elements of art, creating artwork influenced by concepts such as space and form, color and value, and texture, line and pattern. Each element will be taught through looking at and learning about artists proficient in that technique and element.
August 3 - 6 : Mini Museum Camp
In this camp, children will explore a wide range of art mediums while working toward creating their very own miniature museum. Each day offers a new creative invitation such as painting, building, drawing, or assembling that encourages them to experiment, express themselves, and discover what different materials can do. Throughout the week, they will collect and curate their favorite pieces, and by the end, they will have transformed a simple cardboard box into a personalized mini museum that showcases their artistic journey.
