Weekend Educator

Be a State of Play Weekend Educator and help support our Open Play and Birthday Party programming. This role involves supporting art experiences in our art studio as well as helping keep our space a functioning laboratory of exploration by organizing, cleaning and resetting the play space in between play sessions. Duties include: being friendly, checking guests in, interacting with children and grownups during their time with us, and having fun!

Lead Art Studio Curator and Assistant Lead Educator

At State of Play, we believe in the power of creativity, connection, and play. Our Lead Art Studio Curator and Assistant Lead Educator serves a vital role in bringing this experience to life; holding the rhythm of our space, supporting our team, and ensuring that every child and caregiver who walks through our doors feels welcomed, inspired, and cared for.

This role blends leadership, organization, and heart. You are both behind the scenes and on the floor- managing logistics while also being a warm, steady presence in the room.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Operations & Guest Experience

  • Open and close the space with care and attention to detail

  • Welcome and check in guests; be a friendly, visible presence throughout open play

  • Float the room offering support, connection, and guidance to children and caregivers

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and inviting environment throughout the day

Curriculum & Studio Support

  • Set up new studio invitations weekly using studio/materials prompts and guidelines

  • Maintain and replenish open play and studio materials; order when needed

  • Co- Lead baby art classes and other offerings as needed

  • Ensure materials are organized, accessible, and aligned with State of Play’s creative philosophy

Staff Leadership & Scheduling

  • Train new Open Play staff when needed

Communication & Administration

  • Work with our Open Play Manager and Social Media Manager, sending weekly photo and video content as needed

Team Culture

  • Attend and contribute to monthly staff meetings

  • Model kind, respectful, and collaborative communication

  • Help uphold the values and tone of State of Play in all interactions
